Do I Need a Coach to Win My Child Custody Battle?

"A Coach?" you say.  Yes.  Child Custody coaches are the newest cog in the multi-billion dollar divorce industry.  You can add them to the long list of other, er, professionals who are feasting at the trough of your misfortune.  In addition to the attorneys, family counselors, amicus attorneys, mediators, social study evaluators, psych study evaluators and professional witnesses, you now have the opportunity to share your wealth with personal child custody coaches.

Despite the tenor of my previous paragraph, there actually are times and situations when a coach may be a good idea.  You can hire a generalist or several different specialists.  A coach can provide individualized coaching services to help you prepare for and navigate the turbulent waters of

  • your divorce
  • child custody social studies
  • psych evaluations
  • the mediation process
  • parenting, as it pertains to your current situation
  • attorney fee disputes

A coach can apply his or her knowledge and experience to help you better understand the details of  your personal custody case.  They can provide information and strategies to help you prepare for battle, as well as coaching you along the way.  Working with a custody advisor can actually increase your chances of winning custody of your child.  Or you might be rewarded a more favorable  visitation decision, as a result of taking their advice.

While the thought of pouring even more money into the divorce industry my irk you,  chances are it will save you money in the long run. If you have plenty of time on your hands, then buy a few good books or ebooks, and get yourself informed.  If you have more money than time, then hire a good coach to guide you.  In either case, it will be far cheaper than paying your lawyer's hourly billable rate to explain the ropes.
